Case - resort
A 28-villa boutique resort above the Ayung valley had a beautiful, underbooked spa. The brief was blunt: give guests a reason to book the spa every day of a four-night stay - and give marketing something no infinity pool can say.

Wellness guests stay longer and spend more - the resort knew the aggregates (+108% TRevPAR with a major wellness offer, RLA Global) and wanted its own version. The constraint was the site itself: a jungle-edge deck, structural limits, strict noise discipline, and an aesthetic bar set by ten years of architecture awards.
The circuit faces the valley: an 8-person cedar sauna with a panoramic glass wall, a hand-finished stone plunge at 10 °C, and a warm soak tub at 38 °C run off the same heat-cool chiller platform - three temperatures, one ritual. The chiller lives 12 m away behind the linen room; guests hear cicadas, not compressors.
Running the warm soak off the same chiller platform. Three-temperature circuits sell as 'the ritual' - a word spas can price - for one extra tub and zero extra machines.
The sector maths - rate uplift, stay length, day-pass mechanics - is broken down on the hotels & resorts page and in the hotel ROI guide.
Premium resorts sell attention, not access. A host doubles the perceived value, keeps protocols safe for first-timers, and caps load on the water.
That is chiller sizing plus an insulated stone shell - tropical noon is a design input, not an obstacle. Details on the chiller page.
Everything: seven weeks of works scheduled against the lowest occupancy, so the zone opened exactly when bookings returned.
