For hotels & resorts
Hotels with a serious wellness offer earn +108% total revenue per available room (RLA Global × HotStats). On Bali - 6.33 million foreign arrivals in 2024 - the contrast ritual is fast becoming what infinity pools were a decade ago.

A wellness zone is the rare capex that touches all three hotel levers at once: rate (wellness inventory prices above the base room), length of stay (wellness guests stay 2-3 nights longer - SiteMinder), and reviews (a 90 °C sauna beside a 5 °C plunge is the most photographed corner of any property we have built). And unlike a restaurant concept, it works in low season - recovery has no weather.
Every placement is planned around throughput: one tub serves 6-8 guests an hour with a 3-minute protocol; a sunken plunge pool takes six at once for group sessions. The free layout maps your expected peak hour before we size anything.
| Lever | Industry figure | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue per available room, major wellness | +108% | RLA Global × HotStats 2024 |
| Spend of int'l wellness tourists | +36% per trip | Global Wellness Institute |
| Share of tourism spend from wellness trips | 18% (7.8% of trips) | GWI Monitor 2024 |
| Nightly rate with hot tub (villas/STR) | +14.3% | AirDNA |
| Guests willing to pay extra for wellness | 92% | Hotelbeds 2024 |
These are industry aggregates, not a promise about your P&L. What we can promise: the zone's operating cost - a 400 L tub runs about Rp 214 ribu/month in electricity, a sauna costs its heater kW times hours - and the capex band before you commit: Rp 800 juta - 1.5 miliar for a resort zone (see pricing).
The full mechanics of pricing a hotel zone - day passes, spa bundles, suite premiums - are in our guide How a wellness zone changes hotel economics. For the equipment itself start at contrast therapy sets.
Rule of thumb: 6-8 per tub-hour, 8-12 per sauna-hour depending on cabin size. A resort zone with a 6-person pool and 8-person sauna comfortably cycles 20+ guests an hour at peak.
Yes - day-pass recovery is growing fast on Bali. It needs a separate entry flow and booking slots; we plan both into the layout at no extra design cost.
A service plan for a resort zone typically lands in low single-digit juta per month including consumables - quoted with the project so finance sees the whole lifecycle.
Prefab: cabins arrive as panels, tubs arrive finished. On-site works are 2-4 weeks of the ~6-week timeline and can run in a closed-off zone while the hotel operates.
For hotels: both or neither - the contrast ritual is the product. If phasing is unavoidable, plunge first in hot climates; the temperature guide explains guest protocols.
